Did you know that leeches were once used to predict storms? Well, a tornado warning just dropped and my squad is climbing

@takemetoturch

My dad is a meteorologist and he has never once warned me about an incoming storm. My leeches, however……

*urgently* Lads, the leechometre is at 12 bong, I repeat, 12 bong!

“tempest prognosticator” absolutely sounds like some kind of arcane device a wizard would have lying around in his workshop

It would also probably have leeches in it.

Studies suggest that approximately 90% of people are right-handed. Left-handedness is less common. Studies suggest that approximately 10% of people are left-handed. Ambidexterity refers to having equal ability in both hands.ALT

we did it! we formed a statistically significant sample size with a perfectly acceptable margin of error!

Oh holy shit they found Silphium alive and growing in the wild.

Like now that I am awake I need to reiterate how huge this is. It was presumed harvested to extinction by the Romans. It was a favorite flavoring and according to historians one of the best contraceptives ever known. True or not it would be fantastic to study that but it being extinct made that impossible.

This is such a huge deal! I hope they get it figured how to grow it.
